I left my 95 Targa L/X stock wide open for about three hours one
 beautiful morning in South Dakota. It didn't seem to be any worse
for
 the wear. It didn't smell excessively hot or act the least bit
stressed
 by it. I even had a strong tailwind that reduced airflow through the
 engine cowl.
