Hi,
About your lighting problem. One of the first things you want to check is
the ground wire, located just under your gas tank, on the right side, bolted
on with the coil and goes down to the top bolt on the engine mount. That's
the one that goes all the way through the frame and the engine. If it is
missing, you will need to replace it with a new one. Or if it is corroded,
you need to take it apart and clean it. Use a screw driver to push the e
bolt out and leave the screw driver in place. Except for removing the wire.
I just replaced one today at the shop, that had lighting problems as well.
You will also need to take your V-belt off the pulley. It isn't hard to do
and it will go back on pretty easy. If you don't take it off, you will be
fighting it the whole time, as it tends to pull the engine downward against
the bolt.

Hope this helps. JT
