Keith, I have a 1976 Batavus VA, that's the step thru model, that I'm working on. It was my "parts" bike. If I get it to run I'll sell it. My son won't be seen on a purple moped. Can't say I blame him, peer pressure is important at his age. Over the winter I finished a 1976 Batavus HS-50. This was my first attempt at restoring a moped. Turned out pretty good. My son loves this one. Winter before last I did a 1981 Honda CT 70, that's Honda's step thru scooter/cycle of old. Got to tell you, I have developed a supreme dislike of carbs that depend on jets only. Finding the proper jet size is a PIA. I have been thinking of doing a Tomas next, as I like the 2 speed idea. I'm just waiting for a deal to pop up. My ride is a 1993 Honda VT 1100 but, as I'm sure you know, small bikes are a lot of fun. I wish they were more popular. I need a larger community for my son to explore. My neighborhood, I can tell, is getting old. I'll get a small bike for myself and maybe take a trip someday. Right now, if I want to ride with my son, I have to stay on secondary roads, as he is underage. 16 what a stupid law, kids today are more mature at 14 than I was at 16. This should be addressed. Lawmakers have been too busy making new gun laws. OOPS, that's for another forum. See ya, Hank
