first off, turn off the lights when u start it. i know it sounds dumb but i
have a ped that won't spark with the lights on unless you really kick it.
second, check for spark. remove the spark plug and place it on a cooling
fin, turn off the lights, make sure your on run, kick it over as hard as you
can, and see if you see a blue spark on the end of the plug. if not, make
sure that it is grounded ( on the coolin fin). If you do get a spark, it
should be very easy to see, if you have to bend over to see it, check your
points. but before that, check for gas. see if there is gas gettin to the
gas line, the carbuerator, and most of all the engine. a very easy way to
check this one is to put the plug in the cylinder again, back where it was,
and turn over your engine a few times. then, remove the plug and look and
smell in the cylinder. if you smell gas, then that isn't your problem. if
not, then that is your problem right there. there should also be gas on the
plug by the way after turning it over. if your gettin gas, and the spark is
there, but not well, your prob is points. points are what time the spark and
ground the spark. they are 2 little mettalic, circular pieces that click
together to make a spark on the right time. if they are worn, you won't
spark at the right time or with enough juice. look at them and make sure
they are shiny.if they have little spots on them, replace em. that is your
problem. well, hope this helps. let me know of your results.
Peace and Grease y'all
