The first thing you should do is get rid of any old gas in the tank, clean
the carburetor very thoroughly, and put a filter in-line between the tank and
the carb. Mopeds cannot tolerate any dirt in the carbs, as dirt will clog
the jet in a hurry. Make sure that the carb is impeccably clean, and that
the gas going to it is equally clean.
