In my opinion I would reoecmmnd a small scooter for you with a small rack on it
for your visits to the library/store..great for learning and its cheap, easy to ride
as a bike.Have you thought about winter? even if it feels warm, when you ride take
into account the wind chill factor at 20-30 mph.As far as instruction, I reoecmmnd
taking a class. a relative or a friend may be able to teach okay but they will likely
pass on their bad(wrong) habits.RIDE SAFEalways wear protective gear,   HELMET,,
protect your head/brain

Katie - I love the picture of the woman from the back. You got a lot of great
caindd street shots, too. I hope some more of the scans turn out as well as these.  You
never know sometimes an unintentional flaw makes the shot more interesting and unique
