To check coil you may need a multimeter,but maybe not I had one that was visibly melted no meter needed also points may be visibly shot,but I agree I would first try to rewire around kill switch.I'm not suggesting you break the law,but I know someone who regularly buys needed tools,uses them and takes back for refund.Besides parts need not always be that expensive if you can find them used,here is a link for a used coil on ebay........LIS PUCH moped ingintion coil 1978 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1818737221&r=0&t=0 |
