Chris, There are only a couple of things you can adjust on that carb. You already got the float and you can see the idle stop screw on the side. The fuel mixture can be adjusted by changing the setting on the tapered needle protruding from the bottom of the air slide. You will see that it's position is determined by a small clip inserted in one of four grooves on the top of the needle. This clip then rests inside the bottom of the slide. (Your only other option to change the mixture would be to replace the jet, but chances are it's fine unless it has been damaged.) Also, you may want to check that the slide is moving up and down freely and that the throttle cable is not hanging up. I would also check that the piston, rings and head are not carboned up, since I have seen this be a cause of similar symptoms. Good luck! LoTec cris lepage wrote: > My '78 Puch has a Bing carb.
