My moped with the most miles is a bright green '76 Puch that was
given to me when I was in college in 1982. At that time it had
9,500 miles on it. (The previous owner was a moped rental agency
and they had given it up for dead!) I cleaned the fuel system,
points and de-carboned it, as well as drained and replaced the
gearbox oil. It ran GREAT!
Eighteen years later it has 18,734 miles on it, an average of only about 450 miles per year since I got it. It still runs great and is one of my favorites (granted I am a bit sentimental about it) The paint, decals and seat are original and still look good! I
have replaced the points, fuel valve and tires, but other than
that it is 100% as it came from the factory in Austria.

always keep hearing 5000 miles to 8000 miles , so i wonder if a
