First off I don't have much experience with mopeds with batteries.
But what I learned from my Honda C 50 is that the power coming from the
magneto is more then the light can handle. Without the battery in the
circuit it simply blows.
A headlight doesn't need much power, so that can't be the cause of the
battery drainage. More likely the battery is just getting old or isn't
of the right type.
