AC can be produced from magneto,feed though a rectifer and converted to
DC to battery.An auto alternator produces AC and charges a DC
battery.Just a thought,good luck.Try AC setting on multimeter, OR ,While
running ,quickly touch wire to ground(earth) and look for a spark.At
least you will know you have something,if sparks. QUICKLY in a darkened
area.
