Today I was riding my Puch (1980 Maxi, I think). I went to the north
part of town to my friends house and back. I travelled a total of 40
miles in about two hours of time.

On the way back, it gradually began losing power. Where my usual
cruising speed is about 30 mph, after about a half of an hour of this
gradual loss of power I was topping at 12 mph.

Finally I got home. I did some diagnostics. Nothing in the carbuerator
was clogged. No fuel lines or filters were clogged. It was getting a
spark. It had gas. I messed with the mixture screw. I can't figure out
what is wrong.

My suspects are,
- Improper fuel mixture (this has never been a problem, but who knows?)
- Worn wrist pin, crank, etc. (However, I checked the compression and
it
was at 150 PSI (Usually excellent compression)
- A bad throttle cable. (I checked this, but again, who knows?)
- Timing, (It was getting a spark for sure, but I did a little bit of
off road and something might have gotten shaken up.)
- Transmission Problem (This seems unlikely, because the main problem
is
that the engine is not getting high enough RPMs, I really seems like a
fuel, or engine related problem)

Right now I'm pretty sure that it has to to with the fuel system or the
engine itself because, as I previously stated, the primary symptom is
that it does not get high enough RPMs or torque, therefore less speed
and power.

PLEASE!!! send me information on how to fix my Puch because I am moped
dependant and currently clueless as to why my moped won't work.
