Of course, there's always the chance the clerks know absolutely nothing about mopeds except that it's a checkmark under the heading 'Vehicle Type'. ( I don't know if any states have this but Ontario's entire Highway Traffic Act is online. Surprise, surprise, I found the exact legal definition of a moped (for Ontario, and unfortunately for me my QT50 is legally a motorcycle *snicker*) and all laws pertaining to mopeds, which are quaintly referred to in the text as 'motor-assisted bicycles'. I'll just give a brief rundown of them for fellow Ontarians on the list, if there are any, who need to know: A moped *must* have pedals and can't do more than 50kph. They also can't go on 400-series highways. (Now, did they need a specific law for *that*? Heheh. Of course, this means that I *can* bring the QT50 onto the 401 if I liked, but it would be suicide.) In order to ride a moped you must have a valid driver's license. The government doesn't care what class. You could have your G1 and drive a moped. You also have to have a moped plate (a nice red one), and, by logical extrapolation, insurance. You have to wear a *motorcycle* helmet. Not a bicycle one. You're not allowed to ride on sidewalks. (Awww.) There's also some stupid, obvious laws, like the damned thing has to have brakes. ) But those are the big ones up there. Hope this helps someone. - dom
