1994 Honda Elite-S (scooter) - by
Andy
I have installed a 66cc bore kit made by P.C. just to see how good it works, after a 500 mi. break in it runs great, i can reach speeds of between 55-60 mph on the flats, this is with the stock exhaust (washer drilled out) and stock carb (re-jetted) airbox intake opened up and 10 to 1 gears. Total cost is about $ 140.00 if you do the exhaust, carb & airbox yourself, the gears must be pressed in so you will need to find a shop for that. P.S. my dio/aero will be getting a face lift, dual headlights & aluminum rims.... Add comment View comments |
Honda Aero 50 (scooter) - by
DJ Claxton
I have a 1984 Honda Aero 50 scooter. I got it for free in a junk pile. It was bought for 250$, but i am friends with the Honda dealer and he let me have it for free. All I had to do was unlock the motor (it sat un touched for 2 years and the insides rusted up making it so they didnt move). Then after I messed with it for a day, it fired. Instant 40 MPH. It runs great, I have been riding it for about 4 months now and I have had no troubles. I find myself getting clogged behind cars on many streets in my town as most speed limits on streets round here are 25. It is crisp, clean and powerful..It has really good accerlation. And on the state highways that lead in to downtown, I dont bog traffic too bad. I am gonna modify it sometime to make it run alittle faster, as I need to keep up with my friends 2000 Kymco. At least i can accerate faster than him though I guess, it used to be the otehr way around. Pretty good for free huh. Oh yea, the scooter looks pretty nice for bein an 84, it has custom aluminum side boards which really make it look sharp and sleek. And it gets about 135 MPG.Add comment View comments |

My brother and I just recently bought a Honda Express Moped from a friend. It`s hard to explain how much I love this bike. It has never had any problems and it purrs like a kitten. I belive Honda makes EXCELLENT. I ride it everyday just to enjoy the ride. It also gets about 95 mpg! If your looking for a reliable moped this is it. Good riding everybody! Honda aero/elite-s (scooter) - by
Andy
I have just upgraded my 87 aero, it now has an 82cc bore kit with a stroker crank pushing it to over 90cc of pure moped madness, i had to part with the oil injection pump but 0 to 70 mph in 8 seconds flat i get to work real fast! After 6 yrs of trouble free riding I am selling my 94 elite-s i will be getting a benilli, only one dealer in the u.s. has these state of the art mopeds, twin disc brake liquid cooled, digital clock and a cell phone compartment, the total package in mopeds. I will review this moped in late aug. after the first shipment.... Add comment View comments |
Honda Aero 80 and 50 (scooter) - by

Okay I admit straying from my Honda PA50 Moped. I loved it, but at 260 lbs. well I felt I needed some more zip in my life. My friend Jay bought an Aero50. He is pretty handy with bikes. (He`s got a nifty site (www.visit.to/minidoodle.)Its a minibike and scooter site. When I drove his Aero50 I must admit I smuggly thought my moped the better of the two. However, the more I drove the scooter, the more I liked it. It was slower off the mark, but it had a better ride... almost a limousine. It was less noisy. It had all these neat gizmos like turn signals, electric start, and of all things no need to mix oil and gas!! Wow! Luxury! It was like a moped, but a bit more substantial. Wasn`t I worth a little pampering??? I knew I was in trouble in the bike shop when a guy named `Thunder` served me. Could lightning strike?? It did!! My `85 Aero80 (in mint condition) was delivered two days later. Wow it was fast!! The slightest twitch and I`m off and running. I can keep up with traffic, no problem. I can play chicken with Chevys and they eat my exhaust! I have taken the beast to 75km/hr. (45ish for all you yanks...) with ease. I could go m-u-c-h faster because I did not even crack the throttle open. Its v-e-r-y noisey though. Now for the tough part...... Though I like the Aero... please don`t tell my wife `cause she and the kids bought me this thing.... but I am getting nostalgic for my moped. It had history. A scooter is fun, but a moped is unique. A first bike is still a first bike. Anybody got a used PA50 for sale?? Oh by the way, that doesn`t mean I would sell the scooter. I just think I`ll start a collection!

Honda PA50 (moped) - by

Okay so I am a bit obsessed! This is my second review of my Honda PA50. But I have put on about 5,000 miles now, and we have become very friendlt indeed. Ever ride a moped during an 18 foot snow dump?? In Quebec we do not call it a blizzard. The Honda handles best under duress. I weigh 230 (okay 240 pounds) and the bike was made for 185. I have ned=ver felt the least bit of strain on the engine, even when riding my 100 pound son on the carrier! This thing takes abuse!!! By the way if you are considering riding a moped during a blizzard, there`s some things that you should know. Because you have such a low center of gravity... you tend to pass all those trashy cars. I almost feel sorry for them.... sliding all over the place like they weren`t really designed for the stuff at all. As a matter of fact I am thinking of staging the first North American Moped Ice Race next January in MOntreal. ANy takers?? I highly reoccomend the Honda PA50. It is simple, reliable, enjoyable, powerful, economical, and just plain fun. It is more faithful than my dog. Best of all.... you don`t need to walk it! Add comment View comments |
