Kinetic TFR (moped) - by Tony
Hello,
I have seen a couple of reviews on this moped and would like to add my own. I have had my Kinetic for over 1 year and love it. It is bright red with a black add-on storage box from the manufacturer. It is a defininte attention grabber in the neighborhood. The power is just fine for two riders. I take my 5 year old daughter out for a spin and she loves it too. It is not the most expensive or sporty moped out there, but you get what you pay for. If you take care of it, it will run forever. I can`t get enough of it. The moped experience makes me feel young again. I will continue to ride and be proud of my `Little Harley`.

2001 Kinetic TFR (moped) - by Barbara Perkins
Bought my Kinetic from JCWhitney for $800 out the door, including turn signals, two mirrors, shipping and all.
It is a beautiful rainbow black metallic. It looked nicer in person than what I expected. Bought a chrome luggage rack and black leather tool bag from Cosmopolitan motors, which enhanced the `peds appearance as well.
It runs well, however acceleration is a bit slow. Have to get a running start to get up steep hills. In retrospect, living in Missouri, I probably would have paid the extra $400 or so to buy the Kinetic Magnum or another 2 speed which has more pulling power to get up hills.
Love the `ped though and would recommend it to others.

Kinetic Magnum (moped) - by Peggy
I bought my 2000 Magnum in Nov. 2000 and I took it out for the first time in April 2001. I`ve put 170 miles on it so far, still short of the 300 mile break-in period, so I`m not supposed to go over 18mph til then. So I don`t know exactly how fast it will go.
I`ve had a little problem with the front tire losing a little air, but other than that, I`m having lots of fun with it. I just wish I had someone to ride with. Not too many people seem to have mopeds around the Chicago area where I live.

Kinetic Magnum (moped) - by Chris
I just Bought A new 2000 Kinetic Magnum Moped at a Online Market i must say its the best thing ive ever ridden, Unlike the TFR Model, The Turn Signals come standard and Its a 2 seater, And it has slightly more Power and Carrying capacity from what i Heard. The top speed is over 30mph But i got a high performance Muffler on its way so it should go a bit faster, Kinetic Moped are about the Best priced Mopeds out there, Mine cost me $945 dollars free shipping, You can get a alot of attention on these, except my dad says i look like Harry And Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber When i ride it!

KINETIC TFR (moped) - by JOHN
THE Kinetic TFR IS A GREAT MOPED. I PUT THE RACING PIPE AND JET KIT ONIT AND I WAS PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE AND I WAS GOING 47 MPH IN A 30 MPH ZONE. THE TFR IS A GREAT MOPED,IT IS VERY RELIABLE AND HAS PLENTY OF POWER. THE ONLY BAD THING IS THE TAIL LIGHT IT GOES OUT EASY.

Kinetic TFR (moped) - by unknown
I bought a Kinetic TFR in June 1999 from World Cycle in Saint
Louis. It cost me $890 + tax, without turn signals, which cost me an additional
$70 (self-installed), or would have cost me $100 installed.

It had been quite reliable and I had 3400 miles on the odometer after 8
months of use. However, there are a few observations I have to make. The
top speed is not 30 mph but more like 27 mph on flat ground, less going
uphill. (Still, much better than a bicycle).

It sometimes took a little longer to start in colder weather and the motor
could be sluggish in 20 or 30 degree weather, but it usually warmed up after
5 minutes and worked normally after that. The tires are not meant for snow
or ice and I skidded and fell once on ice last year, but then again, that`s
not something unique to the Kinetic.

The filament
of the tail light burns out easily, usually going over bad bumps on the
road. However, you can get a replacement at any Walgreens for less than
$2 for a set of 2 turn signal bulbs and fix it yourself. The headlamp is
a little more difficult to replace and costs $12. This burnt out after 8
months.

DO NOT drive with the pedals and bicycle chain
(powered by the pedals) removed or the rear wheel will fall off (from my
experience). Enough said...:)

My only regret about the Kinetic is that it was
such a desirable vehicle that it was stolen from my workplace a couple of
weeks ago by thieves who broke off the post it was chained to and carried
it away.

I am getting a gas motor kit for my
bicycle instead of another Kinetic because in neighborhood I have to work,
anything I get is liable to get stolen again no matter where I park and
the security sucks. (A bicycle would be light enough to carry it into my
office where it won`t get stolen by juvenile delinquents). Still, the Kinetic
is a cheap but reliable moped.
